Normally I don’t write about these things as a new opening and so on. But I guess a lot (especially danes) would love to know that the famous irish chain Primark will open in Hamburg in 2017. it will be placed on the east side of Hamburg in Billstedt. You can read more about it here (sorry, it’s only in German) 🙂
Monday I was at the Christmas Market together with several friends from the study. We took a look around and there were some small shops serving Glühwein (svarer lidt til Glögg), Crepes and much more. I guess the atmosphere would be nice, if it was a weekend. The Flensburg Christmas Market was quite dead but we were also there on a monday evening. It was wet and cold, but hey so is it. I think I will be going there again, but next time will be in the weekend, as there will be much more activies.
After several considerations regarding the blog (also because of the long writing break), I’ve decided to write in both Danish and English. I’ll give it a try and see how it goes. I know a lot of people who do not know Danish at all. So I would rather do it in both languages. So from now on you’ll see the English as the first part, and Danish as the second. So all my updates will be mostly about the study time in Flensburg.
No, you can now use the translation buttons! I have translated and seperated the posts by language 🙂
I haven’t updated the blog for almost 25 days. I apologize for that. I’ve had a very hectic months due to the start of studies. I didn’t have any Wi-fi from the 1st of September to the 14th of September. I started in Flensburg at the University but I also study in Sønderborg. I find it very cool. I’ll tell more about later.
Right now am I changing the design (again) on the blog before I start with anything. From there I will about some of the things which have happened in September. And then will the blog start up again, slowly 🙂
As other people in Denmark I had to apply for an university before the 5th of July, which I also did. Many months before I have tried to fufill the requirements to get in to the Hamurg University but it wasn’t possible. Broken, I realised I had to find an University in Denmark. In my mind I always had the voice of that I wanted an international line. That is why I chose BSc in Economics and Business Administration – International Economics and Business Relationships (English) in Sønderborg. I wrote a bit about it in Hamborg eller Sønderborg. Buuuut… I think around the 15th of July I found something different in Flensburg. I had already taken a look at Flensburg but it was as a German Applicant. Now I managed to come from Flensburg University’s website to the websit of SDU (University of Southern Denmark). There I found a line named BA int./SPRØK (Sønderborg/Flensborg). At first I was just thinking “fuuuuck that….” because I had already passed the deadline of applience for the first round. So I kept myself the next 3 weeks updated and also evaluated the chance for getting in via a free, avaible spot. I already knew that my chances were good because of my grades and also because of the number of applicants from last year.
In 2014 it looked like this:
Available spots: Free admission
Number of applicants 1. prio: 39
Number of students admitted 1. prio: 34
Numbers published the 30th of July 2015 regarding the numbers of applicants and students admitted:
Available spots: 86
Number of applicants 1. prio: 25
Number of students admitted 1. prio: 24
Because of this I was able to conclude that I shouldn’t fight with anyone over the remaining 61 spots. But everything has been luck. But statistically have the humanistic lines at SDU been reduced with 1 %. Personally am I happy that this exactly this line isn’t that interesting for many 🙂
I’ve been there before, but I just took a quick trip today. It’s already up to 27 degrees, and it is wonderful. But unfortunately I could not be there all the time when I aim to get started on fitness again. If some of you are living or visiting Hamburg in a while in the summertime, so it can really be recommended. And not least, you can also use the kayak, canoe, pedal boats and much more. It is a small part of the Alster and there is swimming pool (it costs in exchange of money) and then there is just the public (where the boats and everything else can be seen in the photos).
Haha, I’m already far too many days behind, and soon it will be well also to months. But I was so to the so-called Hafengeburtstag (port birthday) in Hamburg, located at Bridges. But there is always a Hafengeburtstag every year where you can experience a little of hvert.Der were both music (different stages), ship parades, fireworks and much more at over 3 days. But I was there so only on Saturdays.
Festivals and Marks Forster!
There were different stages, and I believe these were only two of them. The major and then a minor, who dealt extensively with rock / heavy genres (which I was a fan). But I’m also a fan of Mark Forster, but him I choose to write about in another post (possibly the next).
Ship Parade (which unfortunately I did not see, boo!)
You have a tradition of having ship parades every year. There is always a Einlauf- and Auslaufparade. As I myself was not present, they have via their official Hafengeburtstag 2015 page loaded videos and pictures from the guard. But this video is shown from d. May 8, ie intro parade or what you now just to say.
Otherwise, there are also many other images from the same site

Usually I tend never to be outside when it’s going to take a walk. It’s something that I do in the summer, but at the moment I’m just too lazy. But my colleague he a cute little doggie, but she wont so to walk with her boyfriend. He is so not currently at home. So I thought, why not? Then my lazy body may get little going again.
I’ll actually quite happy to sit and think all this through. Just to take a walk outside, it arouses so more desires within me. All of a sudden I get the urge to jog again, when it dawned on me how much I miss being outside. So I guess it should be another project to be started again? And you must all continue to have good Sunday! 🙂
It’s been a long time finally that there has ever been any activity on the blog, and I regret sincerely. But now I should very much like to be back again, so I can be a little more active. For although I was a stay lasting between 16-20th February, so I thought that there was something interesting to tell. In Denmark (on my part) happens not sincerely much, and it’s just typical private visit and time with the family which has been prioritized.
But it was again sidetracked. On Tuesday, had one of my colleagues birthday, so she decided to invite us all to her celebration at a bar. The bar is called as said Cafe Reise Bar, and is located close to the main railway station in Hamburg-Altona. Here it was now very cozy. Although I was in theory not felt to go (had slept two hours and a stressful working day), so I thought anyway, that it would be syndt if I was away. Almost all of our international team was there, so around 15.
But oh my, how is it good enough not much cheaper than it is in Denmark. It is also clear when Altona is filled with tourists.
In this picture there is a plate of nachos with cheese, jalapenos and of course dip 🙂 I feel certain enough that I gave € 5.9 for this dish. Alongside is a so-called Singapore Sling for € 6.9 in Happy Hour. Normally it costs € 9.
Or can it also be that I have simply been such a long time away from Denmark that I can not even ærindre prices more.
Enough about that. It was a pleasant evening. We were shown enough for 4-5 hours or something around. And then there were of course some who decided to slip the Reeperbahn. There should I with! In my work, I am the one who is known for partying constantly. But it probably has something to do with that Hamburg is quite different from the small village, which you did come from. So everything must then be verified by! : D
Hehe, my header is actually one of the pictures that I took at Blume Park by Stephan Platz. Already now I miss summer. Normally I tend not to be so fond of the heat, but just that it is bright, fresh … It makes me happy in so many ways. I show never really interested in nature, but deep down I probably always had an urge to get close to nature. Just to enjoy the tranquility, the surroundings … It brings so many happy memories. Some of the pictures that I have been able to find is from August 2014. It was then about Two weeks after I arrived in Hamburg 🙂
